For the 2021 Fiscal Year the city budgeted $1,200,000 for paving. Approximately 50 miles of streets have been paved between 2016 -2020. An effective paving program will pave 15 miles of streets each year with a total expenditure of $1,200,000. In coming years, the paving budget will be increased $100,000 per year to meet the paving demand for the city. To view the current paving list, click the links below.
Storm Drains
Public Works crews maintain drainage ways located within the City easements. This maintenance includes repairing sinkholes over drainpipes and along lined ditches, cleaning and preventative maintenance. A certified, bonded contractor conducts herbicide applications for certain improved ditches three (3) times per growing season.
Bridges
There are numerous bridgers and culverts that lie within the city’s limits. The City of Clinton has primary ownership and maintenance responsibility for these bridges and culverts. Inspections are completed each year by the county bridge inspector and the state bridge inspector. Please obey posted weight limits for bridges in the city.
