Prioritizing Play: Clinton’s Commitment to Playground Safety

November 15, 2024

The City of Clinton and the Clinton Public School District are prioritizing park and playground safety like never before. Chris Smith and Derrick Jenkins, technicians with CPSD, along with Reginald Crump, Parks Superintendent, and Matthew Robertson, Deputy Director of the Parks and Recreation Department, have taken a step towards achieving their Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certifications. This accomplishment would highlight their dedication to providing safe, enjoyable play spaces for the Clinton community.

The CPSI certification, offered by the National Recreation and Park Association, is recognized as the gold standard in playground safety. It equips professionals with advanced training in hazard identification, equipment specifications, surfacing requirements, and risk management, ensuring every playground adheres to the highest safety standards.

We deeply appreciate their commitment to keeping Clinton’s parks and playgrounds safe, accessible, and fun for all!
