Here are the highlights from the latest Board of Aldermen meeting:
Police Department Highlights
Officer Snow was recognized for his compassionate care in addressing the mental health needs of an individual involved in an automobile accident.
Police Chief Hayman reported on a decrease in felony crime statistics for 2024, outlined calls for service, and announced an increase in traffic patrol officers for 2025.

Infrastructure and Lighting Updates
Greg Gearhart with WGK proposed pathway lighting improvements along Cynthia Drive and announced plans to install dimmers on Arrow Drive pathway lights.
Approval was granted for Gearhart to advertise for bids for the emergency repair of the Pinehaven Bridge, with work starting in 2025.
Sewer System Improvements
A Master Professional Services Agreement with Compliance Envirosystems, LLC was approved to assist Public Works Director Phillip Lilley in maintaining and enhancing the city’s sewer systems.
Parks and Recreation Updates
Director Courtney Nunn accepted a $6,500 grant from USTA Mississippi to improve amenities at Brighton Park tennis courts.
The Board adopted the Food Truck Lease Agreement for Firehouse Food Park at Kids’ Towne Park. Details on leasing food truck spots will be available on the City of Clinton website.
Community Development Approvals
Certificates of appropriateness were granted to residents updating the exteriors of their homes.
A dimensional variance was approved for a property owner adding a structure.
