Recreation Departments Receive Awards at MRPA Annual Conference

The Clinton Parks & Recreation and Therapeutic Recreation teams had an incredible showing at the 2025 MRPA Annual Conference in Natchez, Mississippi, bringing home multiple awards and earning well-deserved recognition for their outstanding work in the community!
🏆 Liz Winder was honored as Recreation Therapist of the Year for her dedication and impact in the field.
🏆 The Therapeutic Recreation Department received recognition for its Hospice Service Project, which provides comfort and care to those in need, Inclusive Kickball, which ensures everyone has a chance to play and belong, and the Abilities Paint Workshop, a creative and accessible program celebrating artistic expression for all abilities.
🏆 Therapeutic Recreation & Parks & Recreation were awarded for Neon Nights Pickleball, a fun and engaging event that brought the community together under the glow of the lights.
In addition to these achievements, we are thrilled to share that Courtney Nunn, Director of Parks & Recreation and MRPA President, and Chandra Fontenot, Director of Therapeutic Recreation and past MRPA President, were sworn in as members of the MRPA State Board of Directors. Their leadership and dedication continue to shape the future of parks and recreation in Mississippi!
