City of Clinton Launches Inaugural Mayor’s Youth Council

On May 5, 2026, the inaugural Mayor’s Youth Council participants attended their first official meeting and had the opportunity to interact with City leaders while learning more about how local government works firsthand.

Throughout this one-year program, students will gain hands-on experience in civic leadership, local and state government, public service, and community engagement. Participants will attend meetings, hear from elected officials and department leaders, explore careers in public service, learn how municipal government operates, discuss issues impacting the community, and participate in volunteer opportunities and service projects designed to give back to Clinton. The program will also expose students to leadership development opportunities, teamwork, communication skills, and the importance of active civic involvement at both the local and state levels.

The inaugural members of the Mayor’s Youth Council are Aaron Smith, Abbie Rushing, Alohan Ekunwe, Ayden Jelks, Brandon Harvey, Brantley Jones, Brooklyn Evans, Case Robinson, Charlotte Chapman, Christen Mitchell, Colton Lay, David Howell, De’Syri Addison, Deeya Sharma, Destiny Addison, Eleanor Freeny, Eli Canales, Emily Bowers, Gina Robinson, Hailey Miller, Jack Tracy, Jaidyn Mason, Janae Sinclair, Jeremiah Barnett, Jordan Powell, Kaden Hannah, Kerri L. West, Legend Gavin, Luke Manuel, Malaya Turner, Malia Turner, Meryl Babu, Reagan Rushing, Robert A.
