Fire Department of Clinton
Services:
The Clinton Fire Department maintains and executes the city’s Emergency Management Plan, which identifies the activities and actions to be taken before, during, and after any type of emergency. As part of this plan, each of the city’s fire stations is maintained with generators, internet, and communications equipment which enables the city to keep itself and its citizens informed and out of harm’s way in the event of a disaster.
Charging stations are available to all residents in the event of power outages at the following locations:

Clinton Fire Department provides a community shelter for all residents during any active tornado watches in our area. The saferoom is located at Fire Station 4: 1973 Pinehaven Road. Per FEMA regulations, no pets, except service animals, are allowed in the safe room.
Medical Device Charging
Following a disaster or during prolonged power outages, people with medical devices in need of charging can visit one of our Fire Stations or Police Station:

Emergency Medical Service
The Clinton Fire Department is a non-patient transport department, providing Advanced and Basic Life Support to the citizens. The Clinton Fire Department provides at least one Paramedic on duty at all times. If you require these services, please call 911.Fire Prevention
The City of Clinton has adopted the 2018 International Building Code and 2018 International Fire Code. Our fire department provides annual inspections for businesses and public facilities. For a business to schedule a fire inspection, call 601-925-1010.Homeowner Burn Permits
Homeowner Burn Permits are free and available for homeowners within the city. A new burn permit is required for every day a homeowner plans to burn. A full list of regulations and requirements will be given when the burn permit is requested by the homeowner. Permits may be obtained by calling the Clinton Fire Department Burn Permit line 601-925-1001.
Commercial Burn Permits
Commercial burning requires a permit and inspection of the area before burning. Any company requesting a commercial burn permit can call the Fire Marshal, Chris White, at 601-925-1010 to set up a time for inspection and consultation to qualify for a permit.
Hydrant Flow Testing
Hydrant flow testing for construction projects or for sprinkler systems may be arranged by calling the Fire Marshal, Chris White, at 601-925-1010
Public Education
Public Education services are offered through Station Tours, School Programs on Fire Safety Education, Community Programs, and Smoke Detector Programs. To schedule a class or tour, or inquire about our fire and life safety services, call Julie Cross at 601-925-1010 or email jcross@clintonms.org.
CodeRED is the City of Clinton’s 24/7 emergency alert system, sending messages to landlines, cell phones, and email with severe weather and evacuation notifications.
Citizens of Clinton with a landline have been automatically enrolled through the 911 database, but those who would like to receive alerts via cell, text or email, may enroll by visiting the CodeRED enrollment website, here. Code Red also has a mobile app, which provides additional access to emergency notifications and general information directly from your smart phone.
