Clinton Opening City Building for Residents Without Power
Currently the city of Clinton still has 2200 Clintonians without power from Friday morning’s storm. Due to the stifling heat, the City has decided to open one of it’s public buildings to those suffering without power beginning at 10:00 am tomorrow morning, Sunday, June 18th, until 5:00 pm each day until the issue is resolved.
Since it is already open, the city has selected Fire Station #2, 911 Old Vicksburg Road – next to Kids Towne Park. The City cannot supply any amenities, so those deciding to come must bring their own food/water.
This site was selected due to the ample parking, a classroom that will hold a vast number of people, a TV in the room, and the services of first aid/AMR if required. Finally it is an easy walk to the fire station from the heavily damaged Lakeview area.
If more buildings are needed then this effort can be extended as required.
