Clinton Fire Department’s Rope Rescue Capabilities Enhanced Thanks to Lt. Joshua Wilson’s Initiative

August 12, 2025

At the most recent Board of Aldermen meeting, Alderwoman Beverly Oliver recognized Lieutenant Joshua Wilson for his exceptional leadership and dedication to public safety.

After learning the Clinton Fire Department was in need of new rope rescue equipment but lacked the necessary funding, Lt. Wilson took matters into his own hands. He personally contacted local businesses and organizations, rallying community support and raising more than $20,000. His efforts provided enough funding to equip all four of the city’s fire stations with brand-new rope rescue gear.

This upgraded equipment will enhance the department’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies where rope rescues are required, ensuring firefighters have the tools they need when every second counts.

The City of Clinton extends its sincere appreciation to Lt. Wilson for his determination, resourcefulness, and unwavering commitment to keeping our community safe.
