At the January 7, 2025, Board of Aldermen meeting, the Department Head Report was presented by Director of Public Works, Phillip Lilley. Lilley emphasized the preparations Public Works is currently making before the projected winter weather. He also highlighted the recent accomplishments of his department through the installation of 68 bollard dimmers along the Arrow Drive walking path, street striping various intersections, and planting wildflowers along the Clinton Raymond Road/I-20 ramps. In addition, Lilley thanked the residents for participating in the fall citywide cleanup and hazardous waste days which collected over 70 tons of waste.
After feedback from concerned community members, 68 dimmers were recently installed in the bollards along the Arrow Drive walking path. This initiative aims to reduce the light intensity (lumens) emitted by these fixtures to ensure a more pleasant and natural walking environment, enhancing the path’s appeal without compromising safety.
We’re thrilled to announce that the Northside Drive Bridge is officially open and accessible to the public! This marks a significant milestone in improving infrastructure and connectivity for our community.
