Main Street and City Weekend Events Cancelled
The City of Clinton has made the difficult decision to cancel the Fall for Clinton Market, Chick-fil-A Pet Parade, and the Fall Concert in Lions Club scheduled for Saturday, October 10, due to the threat of strong winds and potentially hazardous weather conditions.
Following consultation with city public safety officials, the decision was made out of an abundance of caution to protect vendors, participants, and visitors.
Strong wind gusts pose a significant safety concern for outdoor events, particularly those involving vendor tents, canopies, and temporary equipment. These items can become airborne in high winds, creating a serious risk of injury to attendees and vendors.
While the City recognizes the disappointment these cancellations may bring, the safety and well-being of residents, visitors, and event participants remain the highest priority.
The City of Clinton appreciates the community’s understanding and looks forward to welcoming shoppers and vendors back to Olde Towne for the Holiday Market on Saturday, November 14.
Residents are encouraged to monitor the City of Clinton’s official communication channels for additional weather-related updates and event announcements. Visit clintonms.org or text CLINTON to 91896 to sign up for city text notifications.
