City of Clinton Asks Residents to Help “Find The Leak”
The City of Clinton is asking for the community’s help in locating a significant water leak somewhere within the City’s water distribution system.
Unlike a typical water main break, this leak may not be immediately visible. It could be hidden underground or flowing directly into a storm drain, ditch, creek, or other drainage area, making it much more difficult for Public Works crews to detect.
Residents are encouraged to be on the lookout for any unusual signs of water while traveling around the city, including:
- Water flowing into a ditch or storm drain when it has not rained.
- Standing water in an unusual location.
- Water bubbling up from the ground.
- A roadway, yard, or vacant lot that remains unusually wet.
- The sound of running water where it shouldn’t be.
Even if you’re unsure whether what you’re seeing is related, the City encourages residents to report it. Every tip helps narrow the search and could lead crews directly to the source of the leak.
