Pinehaven Bridge Reopening Delayed Until End of May as Final Construction Work Continues

May 8, 2026

The City of Clinton has received an updated timeline for the Pinehaven Bridge replacement project, with the anticipated reopening now expected by the end of May.

While the bridge was previously projected to reopen in late April or early May, remaining construction activities have extended the schedule by a few additional weeks.

According to project updates, the bridge is now in the final stages of completion. The remaining work primarily includes final roadway striping and the installation of guard rails. Road striping cannot be completed until the ground layer has fully cured to ensure long-term durability and safety.

City officials understand the frustration many residents may feel as the project timeline extends beyond one year. A large portion of the project timeline has been dependent on contractor coordination, outside vendor schedules, and weather conditions, including recent rain delays that may have impacted progress.

Despite the delay, the project is significantly closer to completion than at any previous stage, with only limited work remaining before the bridge can safely reopen to traffic.

The Pinehaven Bridge replacement project began in April 2025 and has involved a full bridge reconstruction aimed at improving long-term infrastructure and roadway safety in the area.

The City appreciates the community’s continued patience throughout the project and looks forward to reopening the bridge as crews complete the final safety components in the coming weeks. Additional updates will be shared as the project moves toward completion.
