Water Billing Update: New Online Accounts Required for Muni-Link System

November 19, 2025

The City of Clinton has officially transitioned to its new Muni-Link water billing system, designed to provide a more secure, efficient, and user-friendly experience for customers. As part of this upgrade, customers who pay their water bills online or previously used online auto draft will need to create a new online account to continue using those services.

A letter explaining this transition was included with last month’s water bill, and email notifications were also sent ahead of the system change. However, some customers may not have seen these notices, prompting this additional reminder.

Online Payments and Auto draft Users Must Create New Accounts

Online payment information and online auto drafts from the previous billing system did not transfer into Muni-Link. For security and verification purposes, customers who previously used the old online payment portal must create a new Muni-Link account before making their next payment or setting up a new scheduled auto draft.

Customers who did not visit Public Works to set up a bank draft in person will need to create this new account to continue using online services.

Why the Change Was Necessary

For the protection of customer information, online payment data and stored payment methods from the former billing system could not be automatically transferred. This ensures that all financial information remains secure and that customers intentionally authorize any new auto draft or payment method added to their account.

While notices were sent in advance through both mail and email, the City recognizes that some customers may have missed the communication.

Steps to Get Started

To continue paying online or to reestablish your online auto draft, please complete the following:

1. Create your new Muni-Link online account

2. Add and verify your preferred payment method

3. Set up your new auto draft (optional)

Customers who previously visited Public Works in person to establish bank draft are not affected. Those drafts will continue without interruption.

Assistance Is Available

Public Works staff are available to help customers set up their new online accounts or answer any questions about the updated billing system. For assistance, please call 601-924-2239 or visit Public Works during regular business hours.

The City of Clinton appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as we continue improving our services and enhancing the customer experience through modern, secure billing technology.
