Early Morning Work Brings Pickleball Courts Closer to Reality at Kids Towne Park

June 2, 2025

Clinton’s pickleball community has something to celebrate this summer—eight brand-new courts are well on their way to completion at Kids Towne Park, marking a major upgrade to one of the city’s most popular recreational offerings.

Early on a recent morning—as early as 2:00 A.M.—construction crews began pouring concrete for the new courts. While the timing might have surprised a few nearby residents, the early hours were carefully chosen to avoid the challenges that come with daytime heat. Cooler temperatures and lower humidity during the early morning hours help prevent cracking and surface damage, ensuring that the courts will be smooth, durable, and ready for long-term use.

The City of Clinton recognizes the inconvenience that early morning work may have caused and sincerely appreciates the patience and understanding of nearby residents. These efforts are all part of a larger vision to bring state-of-the-art recreation facilities to the community.

Pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, has gained a strong following in Clinton over the past few years. The new courts are being built with that momentum in mind—designed to accommodate everything from casual games and family fun to league play and tournament events.

Once complete, the courts will offer a clean, modern, and accessible space for players of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the sport, these courts will provide a first-rate experience right in the heart of Clinton.

Stay tuned for grand opening details later this summer. Until then, paddles up—Clinton’s pickleball revival is almost here, and it’s going to be better than ever.
