Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Clinton is bustling with events to entertain the whole family. Beginning Thursday, September 19, 2024, test your trivia knowledge at Olde Towne After Dark: Trivia Night at 303 Jefferson. Trivia is from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Registration begins at 6:30 pm. The entry fee is $10 per team of four.

Friday, September 20:

Friday Night at MIlepost 89
The Friday, September 20 music offering will showcase Harmony & Grits, a gospel and Southern-style bluegrass band with the combination of instrumental talents and singing voices. You will enjoy their tight, melodic, soaring four-part harmonies as they perform gospel, bluegrass, and Americana-country classics. Friday Nights at Milepost 89 is the third Friday of the month at 6:30 pm inside the Clinton Visitor Center. Admission to each performance is at least “89” cents.

Dinner & a Movie: Footloose
We’re thrilled about the attention Clinton is receiving as a movie is being filmed on Jefferson Street this week. To accommodate Olde Towne Clinton’s big screen moment, we’re moving our own big screen down the street to the beautiful outdoor area surrounding the Olde Towne Depot. So join us this Friday evening at dusk as we take a trip down memory lane with one of the best movies of the 80s, the classic Footloose.

Saturday, September 21:

Cruzin’ Clinton Car Show
Vintage, classic, and late-model cars will line the brick streets of Olde Towne, creating a perfect backdrop for this family-friendly event. Enjoy the sights and indulge in delicious foods from downtown eateries and street vendors such as Gator Bugs Snowcones, Grumpy Dave’s Kettle Korn, Dad’s Dogs, Smokey’s Meal on Wheels, and Hot Tamale Heaven. The parade starts at 9 a.m. from Clinton Plaza Shopping Center (Big Lots) and ends in Olde Towne for the car show starting at 10 a.m. Cars can be viewed from 10-2. See you at the show!

Big Truck Experience
Join us on Leake Street in Olde Towne on Saturday, September 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for this free family event. The Big Truck Experience is held in conjunction with the Cruzin’ Clinton car show. Get ready to see and touch a variety of big trucks in one place, including heavy equipment, police vehicles, fire trucks, and more! The first 75 families in attendance will receive a special Big Truck Experience bag. Enjoy music, food, activities, and giveaways for children.

Hot Wheels Showdown
On your mark… get set… go! Join us from 11 AM – 12 PM on Saturday near the Clinton Police Department for the Hot Wheels Showdown! Attendees can bring their own Hot Wheels or use the ones provided on-site. First-place winners will receive a golden car, and all racers will be entered to win bigger Hot Wheels prizes throughout the hour. This event will be happening in the Big Truck Experience area, so be sure to stop by and try your luck!
